From 27 June to 30 September 2026, a shuttle bus operates between Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle for visitors to both attractions (subject to seat availability). The journey takes approximately 20 minutes.

Along Erasmus’ Cycling Trail

Erasmus’ Cycling Trail is an excellent choice for families who enjoy exploring nature at their own pace. The route starts in Razdrto and follows a quiet paved road through Veliko Ubeljsko and Malo Ubeljsko, making for a calm and easy start. It then continues through the village of Strane, where you’ll find one of the trail’s most memorable stops for both children and adults: the thickest, and according to local tradition, the oldest yew tree in Slovenia. A short break, a story about the ancient tree, and a family photo make the perfect motivation to continue.

Shepherd Jacob and the dragon of Postojna Cave

Deep beneath the Postojna region, where darkness reigns, mystery lingers, and water droplets slowly shape magnificent cave formations, once lived a dragon. It was enormous, fearsome, and always hungry. Whenever it emerged from the cave, its roar echoed across the land. The local people feared it so greatly that they left livestock behind to keep the beast satisfied and themselves safe. No one dared go near it; no one except Jacob.
