The hike begins at the designated trailhead just outside Studeno, where parking is available. A few metres from the parking area, you’ll find the sign marking the trail to Sveti Lovrenc, leading gently uphill across a meadow. Shortly after that, the path enters a pine forest, where the climb gradually becomes steeper.
Higher up, the forest begins to thin, revealing increasingly spectacular views. To the west rises the imposing massif of Mount Nanos, while behind you the Postojna Basin and the Javorniki Hills stretch into the distance. The trail continues straight up the hillside, crossing pastures before reaching the Church of St Lawrence. At the church, turn left into the forest, and after a short final climb you’ll reach the top. From here, panoramic views extend across the Postojna region and the surrounding area, including Snežnik, Slivnica, and Vremščica. Several benches at the top provide the perfect place to rest.
Good hiking footwear is recommended, and be sure to bring snacks and plenty of water, as there is no mountain hut at Sveti Lovrenc.
The nearest place to eat is Refreshment Stop Prepih, located just under 3 kilometres from the starting point. Nearby, you’ll also find Pod gmajno Snack Bar.
