Jacob’s Forest Educational Trail combines the natural and cultural heritage of Postojna and its surroundings with a modern approach to learning and play. Designed for nature lovers of all ages, it offers plenty of opportunities for discovery and fun, especially to the youngest visitors.
A fairy-tale legend from Postojna, the young shepherd Jacob, invites you to explore the trail. Through eleven stops along the way, he invites you to learn about the region’s characteristic tree species, its animal inhabitants, and interesting facts about Postojna Cave, as well as to stop by the forest playground. Along the trail, you’ll find interesting wooden sculptures and educational games that take you into a world of observation, discovery, and exploration.
Although this is an easy trail, we recommend wearing appropriate walking or sports footwear.
If you’d like to extend your walk, continue to the summit of Sovič Hill, where scenic viewpoints and the ruins of the former Adelsberg Castle await.
