Toplar Hayrack with Ethnographic Collection

Inside the hayrack, an extensive ethnographic collection of more than 200 exhibits offers an insight into everyday life in the Postojna region in the past. The collection features objects related to farming, livestock breeding, fruit growing, forestry, hunting, transport, traditional crafts such as shoemaking, blacksmithing and wheelwrighting, as well as household life and many other aspects of rural living.

Visits to the hayrack and its ethnographic collection are available by prior arrangement. It is a rewarding stop for anyone interested in discovering the authentic rural traditions of the Postojna region and Slovenia’s rich cultural heritage.
