The cave is closely linked to the history of Predjama Castle. In the past, its passages served as secret escape routes and hiding places, while today they offer visitors a fascinating insight into the underground world of the Karst. Visitors explore the cave using handheld torches, as there is no electric lighting inside, making the experience even more authentic.
Guided tours are available mainly during the summer months (typically from June to August). For the protection of hibernating bats, the cave remains closed to visitors during the rest of the year.
