The Junior Cycling Route is suitable for young cyclists and anyone who prefers a gentler ride through Postojna and its surroundings. We recommend starting your journey at the Sustainable Mobility Centre.

The route follows Tržaška Street, passing Tito Square before continuing with a gentle ascent along Ljubljanska Street and Kolodvorska Street. As you cycle uphill, you cannot miss the Notranjska Museum, home to a museum of the karst. A pleasant descent then leads you across a bridge over the motorway.

The route continues through Stara vas, where you can visit the Church of St Anthony of Padua, once an important pilgrimage destination. From there you follow quiet, low-traffic roads towards Rakitnik and pass the Postojna Airfield. You can stop at the nearby restaurant Avio Pub for some food and drinks.

For a short section, the route follows the main road between Pivka and Postojna, where extra caution is advised. Cross the road at one of the pedestrian crossings in the village, then turn right and continue towards the Štivan Plant Nursery. Along the way, you will also spot the Church of St John the Baptist on your left. The route continues past the plant nursery towards Grobišče, where you turn right and head back towards Postojna. On the right, you may catch sight of the pond in Grobišče.

The route then takes you through an underpass beneath the motorway and continues towards Zalog. Just before the village, the Church of St Daniel and the Papal Cross stand on the right, commemorating the visit of Pope John Paul II in 1996. The route concludes near Neotropica, a true tropical aquarium, on Reška Street, which leads back to your starting point.
