Here is everything you need to know for a smooth visit.
On the exterior of the church, visitors can see the memorial plaque of the Nicoletti family, owners of the nearby Mülhofen Manor (today’s Kutin House) from the 17th century onwards. In addition to the manor, the family owned much of the land stretching across the southern and western slopes of Sovič Hill, between the Church of St Stephen and the present-day entrance to Postojna Cave. The Nicoletti family played a significant role in the development of Postojna. Thanks to their patronage, the town received its first permanent priest in 1645, and through their efforts, the famous Lipica Stud Farm established a branch stud in the nearby village of Prestranek.
