Modrijan Homestead is located in the heart of the Postojna Cave Park, just before the Pivka River disappears underground. Visitors can explore the Lower Mill, the traditional residential house, and a historic Venetian sawmill. The Modrijan (Lower) Mill, whose waterwheels have been turning on this site for more than five centuries, is regarded as a true ethnological gem. Today, its restored mechanism, powered by electricity, once again drives the original millstone, offering a glimpse into the area’s rich milling heritage.
