The Prestranek Castle was already mentioned in 1581, it was built by the Edling barons from Vipava. Equestrianism has been present in this area for a long time, it appeared for the first time around 1699, and soon after it landed in the hands of the Inner-Austrian Emperor Karl VI. and his daughter Maria Theresa, who contributed a lot to the development of equestrianism on Slovenian soil.<\/p>\n<p>Prestranek Castle has one of the largest and oldest covered riding stables in Slovenia and the <strong>largest riding school on Icelandic horses<\/strong> in Slovenia.<\/p>\n<p>They offer individual and\/or off-road riding on Icelandic horses, holiday riding camps, riding school, horse-assisted therapy, equestrian birthday parties for children, vacations and trips for children and students, becoming a horseman for a day, horse care and renting out riding surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>The centre of the estate is Prestranek Castle, which is the only equestrian centre in Slovenia, where you can spend the night in six elegantly furnished <a href=\"https:\/\/postojnsko.si\/en\/where-to-stay\/rooms-and-apartments\/vicinity-of-postojna\/apartments-prestranek-castle\/\">apartments<\/a> and pamper yourself in the <a href=\"https:\/\/postojnsko.si\/en\/what-to-do\/what-to-eat\/inns-around-postojna\/gostilnica-na-gradu\/\"><strong>Castle Inn<\/strong><\/a> with homemade house specialties from home-bred organic <strong>Angus<\/strong> hay beef.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Green Key \u2013 Prestranek castle\u00a0 is the small accomodation with a sustainable environmental certificate Green Key in Postojnsko.\u00a0 The Green Key is the leading standard of excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operations in the tourism industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seven kilometers from Postojna, Prestranek Castle, a former branch of the Lipica stud farm, is located in pristine, idyllic nature, surrounded by numerous pastures, meadows and karst forests.
